The Almond Beach Resorts have been awarded the prestigious award of Green Globe 21 certification.
The Almond Beach Club has been certified since November 1999, while Almond Beach Village has been certified in December of 2002. Our policy is to play an important role in protecting and enhancing the environment for guests and the residents of Barbados. To remain in touch with environmental best practices and for continuous management and improvement of the programme, we have implemented an Environmental Management System at each of its properties. A "Green Team" which consists of various Almond departments has been assembled to management the programme.
To this end the hotels are committed and have taken action:
- To achieve sound environmental practices across our entire operation while complying with all laws and regulations.
- To implement programmes to minimize our use of energy, water and materials of scarce supply.
- To invite our guest, staff and business partners to participate in our efforts to protect and enhance the environment.
- To work with others in the tourism industry, in public agencies and the community to achieve wider environmental goals.
- To provide all employees with the training and resources required to meet our environmental objectives.
- Purchase environmental friendly and organic products.
